Recently, I came across an app called Alternate Endings. This app has been available for awhile, but after playing it I thought that it was just so great I had to review it. Imagine watching a movie and being able to control what happens. In Alternate Endings, you can do just that!
Take the role of Russell Bingham. A security guard in a typical movie studio, however, after a big-time movie director is murdered, its up to Russell and his trusty taser to find the culprit. Follow Russell’s adventure and control his path in his one and only shot to become a real cop and maybe get a little extra.
During numerous parts of the game you will be prompted to make a decision. What you decide will be played in a movie-like style and based on your choices, you can actually change the outcome of the movie for better or worse. Try to solve the crime in the best way possible, but don’t get yourself or others killed in the process. If you don’t like the ending, play again and follow a different path in order to find a better and more rewarding finish.
Alternate Endings is simply an amazingly designed game and definitely one of my favorites. It is the world’s first murder-mystery-comedy interactive movie app that lets you solve the crime. It truly feels like you are watching a movie and directing it at the same time. It contains over an hour of recorded video with literally no flaws in this game. The acting is great, the script is superb, and the quality is amazing. Stuck and can’t decide what choice to make? Simply shake your iPhone (or iPod Touch) and a choice will randomly be selected. The app is fairly large in terms of storage, but that should not keep you from downloading.
Click here to purchase Alternate Endings for $1.99 via iTunes or visit the Alternate Endings web site for more in depth information and an AWESOME game trailer.
EDITORS NOTE: Wow! Talk about unique … Alternate Endings is a one of a kind app that is first class all the way. Obviously a lot of time, money and effort went into this app – it’s basically like shooting a movie and turning it into a game. Talk about cool and well worth the $1.99. Without a doubt, Alternate Endings is
100% anti-KRAPPS Certified.

Title: Sheepstacker
Category: Games
Guest Author: Carolynn
Lately, I’ve been taking my iPod Touch everywhere with me. It’s especially nice when I’m stuck waiting and bored, I can pull out my iPod and keep myself entertained for a few minutes. I went out to dinner with some friends and while we were waiting for the food, I started to play Sheepstacker. Everyone started to hover over me saying, “What is that you’re playing?” And I told them, Sheepstacker. It’s a game where you do exactly what the title says; stack sheep. They were very intrigued as they watched me play. Once they saw how to play, they all had to have a try and the iPod was shared around the table. We played long after the food came and didn’t care that our food was cold when we finally put the game down and started to eat. That should tell you a bit about how addictive and fun this game is.
Gameplay in Sheepstacker is very straight forward. At the top of the screen there is a rope with a plunger attached. The plunger is holding a sheep and it swings in a circular-like motion. In Classic Mode, you touch the screen and the sheep falls. Once it has landed, it’s time to stack another sheep on top. If you drop your sheep perfectly you get a bonus. The better you stack your sheep, the steadier your tower will be. But if you get sloppy, your tower will sway and make it harder to stack. If you miss, you will lose one of 4 lives. In Baa-lance mode you still stack sheep, but instead of using the touch screen, you tilt the device to catch sheep on a wagon. In my opinion, this mode is most challenging. In Speed Stack mode, you have a certain amount of time (1, 2 or 3 minutes) to stack as many sheep as possible.
What’s great about this game? It’s really cute and addictive as heck! The graphics are cartoony and fun. I personally love the way the sheep’s ears flop as you drop them (very realistic and nice attention to detail). As your stack reaches greater heights, you will see lots of different things appear in the sky (planes, hot air balloons etc). The music and sounds fit perfectly with the game. The song played in the background while you drop your sheep is especially catchy. The controls are very simple and the game is very easy to learn, but hard to master. The three different game modes give you all sorts of replay possibilities. You’ll be stacking sheep til the cows come home! The in-game high scores table is clean and easy to read. There are also game achievements for those who love getting trophies.
What’s not so great? I noticed a bit of slow down in the graphics while I was playing, but not all the time. It was very minor and didn’t really hurt my game much. I’d also like to see a global scoreboard added to see how high the tallest sheepstack is. I’m competitive and need to have a number to beat!
My overall impression of Sheepstacker: A game my friends would never let me delete. Suffice to say, it’s a real winner. It has lots of options and replayability. It’s challenging and extremely hard to put down. At a mere $1.99, you will definitely get your money’s worth. Thanks to developers Tiny Tim Games for bringing this game to us.
EDITORS NOTE: We first noticed this game due to its catchy name and very cool graphics. How can you not love it … it’s freaking hilarious. And as we played Sheepstacker, we realized that not only is this game “cute”, it’s one heck of an awesome game. We love it and it cracks us up every time we play … gotto love an app that will always make you smile! Without a doubt, Sheepstacker is 100% anti-KRAPPS Certified.

Title: Dapple

I’m pretty sick of color matching games in the App Store, but Dapple has revived my feelings for them. Dapple, from Streaming Colour Studios, is a color matching game with an excellent twist. You make matches by mixing paints around you to form new colors. For example if you have the color yellow by a green, the yellow color will mix into a green and form a match. In order to make a match you have to get a match of four or more.
At first you might not know how to play Dapple, but there are many tips and hints so you’ll learn quickly. Once you know how to play Dapple, it can be very fun and addicting.
There are a variety of modes in Dapple. If you want to relax you should choose the “Classic” mode. If you want a little challenge try “Timed”. Or if you have a friend both of you should try the 2 player mode. If you’re colorblind, no fear as you can change the colors to more suitable ones in the options menu.
The thing you have to watch out in Dapple is the brown paint. If you have too much brown, it can quickly end your game. But the good thing is that you can use other colors to take out the brown paint. There are also powerups in Dapple. If you see a raindrop on the board, you can use it to eliminate large groups of colors. To use the raindrop you simply have to match it with another color. The other special item is a diamond. If you match it up, it will eliminate all the paint squares of the same color.
The soundtrack in Dapple is one of the best I’ve ever heard. It’s very soothing and would make anyone fall asleep (literally). The graphics are sharp, colorful and easy on the eyes. Another great thing about Dapple is that it will keep track of your personal high scores.
Overall Dapple is one of the best color matching games on the App Store. I know the price ($4.99) might seem a bit steep, but you won’t regret Dapple’s purchase. If you have questions about Dapple, tweet @OwenGoss or email info@streamingcolour.com.

Still in the doghouse because you forgot to do something nice for your sweetie on Valentine’s Day? Don’t actually have a sweetie and just want to woo the girl of your dreams? Some dude wrote a lame poem and stole your girlfriend from you?
While you may feel like moaning and whining about it (or even blaming us why KRAPPS didn’t remind you it was Valentine’s Day or give our recommendation for the best pick-up line app), it would be more productive to quickly finish reading this little blurb and pick up the Touch Poet app to end your miseries. With Touch Poet, you can quickly generate a poem that Shakespeare or Edgar Allen Poe would be proud of. Using the actual words that these great men have left us, you can piece together a masterpiece of your own using Touch Poet. If these classics authors will leave them asking you “WTH??” go the “hip” route and generate words from DIGG articles and recent news. Once you have completed your work of art, Touch Poet allows you to tweet it on Twitter (it’s like broadcasting an ad … all the girls will come flocking to you) or just directly email it to the person. It’s just that easy with Touch Poet!
So what are you waiting for? Make your belated-Valentine’s Day gift now! Go win your woman back now! Go meet chicks! … all with the help of Touch Poet.
EDITORS NOTE: With all the KRAPPS and redundant apps (how many pickup line apps are there now?) in the App Store, Touch Poet is a breath of fresh air. It is an innovative and unique app that fuels your creativity – this is a good thing – we all need creativity fuel! Touch Poet is 100% anti-KRAPPS certified.

Binary Game App

Title: Binary Game
Category: Games
Guest Author: Carolynn
The Binary Game is a new iPhone game just released last week by John Kassimatis at SayEight.com. Say Eight. Now from the title you might be thinking, “The Binary Game? What the heck is that? A bunch of ones and zeros?” But no, it’s an original game of binary math that makes you think while having a ton of fun.
Gameplay goes like this: you have eight binary switches which you tap to turn ON or OFF. Each switch has a number above it, representing it’s value. When you tap the switch, the the number is added to your total at the top of the screen. Your job is to turn the right switches on to match the goal number at the top of the screen. The goal number is always between 1 and 255. So if the goal at the top is 10, you would press the 8 and 2 switches. These switches turn green when ON so you can see they are in use.
There are three game modes: Challenge, Speed and Timed. In Challenge Mode you start at level one and to work your way up. You have five goals to meet within a specific amount of time. Each level gives you less time to complete your five goals. Scoring is based on how quickly and accurately you meet the goal. But, if you make a mistake and turn on the wrong switch, you can turn it off. (I do this a lot!) In Speed Mode, you get 15 goals to meet and you are timed on how fast you go. In Practice Mode there are no timers or levels, but it’s great to help you learn patterns and increase your scores.
So after playing this game quite a few times, I have to say I really like it. It gets your brain juices flowing and makes you want to challenge yourself to get a higher score. Not only does this game have a very nice in game scoreboard, but they also have online scoring. Having the global scoreboard really makes you want to play again and again to get your scores shown. I would like to see the global high scores added to the in game scoreboard. The sounds in the game are simple and not annoying at all. I absolutely love the end of the game sound! There is no background music, but you can play your iPod music with no problems. The graphics are clean and easy to read. The switches turning green when on is a big help.
All in all, I give this game 5 out of 5 stars (and judging by the outstanding user reviews in the App Store – everyone loves Binary Game). The developer put in a tremendous amount of work into this game and I can’t think of anything bad to say about it. This game is a keeper and a definite must buy! You will find yourself hopelessly tapping switches long into the night, checking to see if you made the Top 10 of the Day or the Top 75 of All Time scores. Click here to purchase the Binary Game from iTunes at a bargain price of $1.99.
EDITORS NOTE: This article represents the views of the author and does not necessarily reflect the opinions of KRAPPS. However, we totally agree with Carolynn and just love this app! Title: WordsWorth
Category: Games
Guest Author: Carolynn
Judging by it’s title, you would probably guess that WordsWorth is a word game. Now I’m a puzzle game freak, but my word game collection is minimal. WordsWorth will change your mind about word games. It’s brought to you by the fine folks at 99 Games Inc.
Game play is simple … trace the letters that make a word or touch each letter individually and press submit. The screen will show you as you trace if you have created a word or not (that’s great for finding those obscure words you didn’t think existed). When you’ve reached a certain score, you go to the next level. There are various helper tiles that appear during the game. There is also a red tile that is a timer. If you don’t use it before time runs out, it’s game over. Now there are two game modes, Classic and Timed. In Classic Mode, your game ends when a timer tile’s clock runs out. In Timed Mode, you have a certain amount of time to finish the level. If time runs out, well, you know what happens.
What’s great about this game is that you can customize it in many ways. You can make the board bigger, change dictionaries (they use TWL, SOWPODS, and ENABLE), adjust the minimum word size or change the background and sound effect settings. There are lots of extras – Wild tiles, Bonus Point tiles, Shuffle tiles and additional shuffles in the game to help you when you are hopelessly stuck. It also saves your current game for those times when you need to do something more important. All these features make this game very replayable. You can make it as easy or as hard as you want. I find the music very relaxing. The graphics are highly polished and you can tell a lot of work has been put into this game.
What’s not so great: of course I’d like to see a global scoreboard, because who doesn’t like to compete for the best score in the game? I’d also like to see a word list added so you can see what words you played or a best word page on the scoreboard listing highest scoring words, etc. The music is nice, but a bit repetitive. I’d like to see a variety of music added.
All in all, I rate this game 5 of 5 stars. It’s addictive, has endless replayability and will change your mind about word games. The developers are always working on updates and listen to suggestions to make WordWorth even better. If you don’t have it yet, what are you waiting for? It’s currently available in the App Store for $1.99.
