Shake Baby Until It Dies Update
We went live with the our Baby Shaker story early this morning around 1:00am PST, including an announcement on Twitter. The first retweet was at 5:30am PST by @Dixwifey. From there, the word started to spread. We made a timezone re-tweet at 10:45am PST and after that, all hell broke loose with multiple re-tweets, passionate comments and outcries towards Apple requesting that Baby Shaker be removed from the App Store.
At 11:07am PST, CNET broke the Baby Shaker story on their site (crediting KRAPPS). Shortly thereafter, Tech Crunch broke the story (crediting CNET). Twitter was going off with Baby Shaker tweets and retweets (still is at the time of writing). At approximately 3:30pm PST, mainstream media has picked up the Baby Shaker story: New York Times, Boston Herald, Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and more by the minute via Google News search.
In the end, the people were heard and Apple removed Baby Shaker … but not without exposure to a seriously flawed application approval system.
Child abuse is not funny … shaking a baby on your iPhone until it dies is just F’ed up (just read the viewer comments below for real life child abuse horror stories) and not a laughing nor entertaining matter.
To conclude, reading the various Baby Shaker buzz, we’ve been noticing that Apple fanboy thinks Apple can do no wrong … saying Baby Shaker is not Apple’s fault, rather the developers. Uhhhh, WRONG NUT JOB! Apple is 100% responsible for the products they sell. Doesn’t matter if they developed it or not … if Apple sells it, they are responsible for the product … so STFU Apple fanboy and mix in a dose of reality.

Facebook Connect For iPhone, Now Live
Well, well, well … look what we have here
FACEBOOK CONNECT FOR iPHONE HAS LAUNCHED!
How do we know? Cuz we smart!
As customary in Casa de KRAPPS, we were tinkering around on our iPhone and noticed one of our favorite apps, Binary Game [App Store], had an update waiting for download (click here to read why we <3 this game). We immediately opened the screen and began reading the update’s details. There was all this mumbo-jumbo about Facebook and how Binary Game is now so much cooler because it’s integrated into Facebook. Then it dawned on us, after 8 months of waiting, Facebook Connect for iPhone has finally launched!
We first learned about this upcoming Facebook/iPhone feature on July 23, 2008 via Gizmodo and TechCrunch. Per the Gizmodo article:
At Facebook’s annual f8 conference this afternoon it was revealed that iPhone app developers will be able to integrate apps with Facebook Connect—in other words, apps will be able to link up to and share data with your Facebook account, so your identity will be consistent and linked across apps through your Facebook account (and you won’t have to create separate accounts for every app).
What this now means for Binary Game (besides the fact that it’s an even cooler game):
Facebook users who play Binary Game can login to Facebook (from within the game) and compete directly against their friends. When a new high score is achieved and a user has defeated the score of their friends, they will now be able to post a social action on Facebook telling all their Facebook friends of their achievement.
Initially Facebook announced that Facebook Connect for iPhone would be released in Fall 2008. Obviously a delay, but good things come to those that wait. We can only assume the Binary Game is not the only iPhone game being integrated into Facebook Connect. We suspect we hear an official announcement from Facebook, including all “phase 1” Facebook enabled iPhone games, within the next 12 hours. More specifically, since it’s SXSWi time, where major announcements always occur, we believe Facebook employee, Dave Morin, makes it official in his “The Search For A More Social Web” SXSWi presentation at 11:30am CST. Attending SXSWi? Make sure you are there for Dave’s presentation and witness first-hand this MAJOR NEWS … hopefully he has some swag to hand out.
update: Tap Tap Revenge 2 is now also Facebook enabled
iNewz Tech App
EDITORS NOTE: As a preamble to this article, yesterday, Apple made a bonehead move by rejecting the Twitter client, Tweetie, based on foul language in Twitter streams. Deja vu for iNewz developer John Gordon as his app was initially rejected due to one of the news sources displaying a profanity in the headline. Click the image to see the full-size rejected screenshot from Apple.

Procrastination. Everyone does it. In fact, this review is the result of a week’s worth of procrastination – “oh the deadline for this review isn’t for another week? no problem, I can just whip something up a few days before the piece is due”. It’s now the night that the article is supposed to be submitted. What am I doing? Watching TV, surfing websites, playing around on Twitter, eating some Girl Scout cookies… everything but writing about this app.
If this type of situation sounds familiar to you at all, well then this app is perfect for you! iNewz Tech [App Store] compiles articles from the top technology websites and brings it all to you in one app. That’s 217 feeds from 80 different sources!
You’re now probably asking, “What?? How does that help me?”
Here at KRAPPS, we periodically recommend apps that help you become the very best you can be (ie. Touch Poet brings out the best Shakespeare in you). In this case, we’re just trying to help you become the very best procrastinator. iNewz Tech brings you up to date articles from the best tech sites. Browse from a selection of topics from Mobile to Home Theatre, to even Business IT. Don’t want to read about Microsoft? Look under the Apple section for all your Apple fanboy needs. The app sorts it all out for you! Simply touch the article headline that interests you and you’ll be immediately transferred via the integrated browser to the originating site where you can read the article in its entirety. iTech Newz supports landscape viewing as well as offline reading. So simple – So convenient.
iNewz Tech also has two other sister apps: iNewz [App Store] and iNewz Green [App Store].
iNewz aggregates 600 feeds from 83 different domestic and foreign news sources including New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle, Toronto Sun, Asia Times and more. iNewz Green provides content from top eco-friendly news sources on the internet including Planet Green, TreeHugger, Popular Science and more. A total of 166 feeds from 96 different sources. Rumor has it … this app is solar powered so they practice what they preach.
Now you know when you find articles that are really funny (like KRAPPS articles) or super interesting (also like KRAPPS articles) and just HAVE to share it with everyone? Instead of jumping through hoops (find computer, located article url, etc.) just to spread the word … use your iPhone and directly send the article to Twitter, Del.icio.us, or even through email! With such a huge array of topics and the endless supply of articles, you can spend countless hours not writing your paper, studying, etc. and procrastinate instead.
So what are you waiting for? Be all that you can be! Get iNewz! Procrastinate!
EDITORS NOTE: We are big fans of Kiss – no, we’re not talking about the legendary rock ‘n roll face painter band – but the concept of Keep It Simple Stupid. The iNewz family is prefect for us – no need to mess with subscriptions or folders or waste hours discovering cool sites. The iNewz app family makes the entire process easy and convenient … giving us more time to do other things thus making us more productive human beings. Hmmm – more productive human beings … one of the many reasons why iNewz is 100% anti-KRAPPS Certified.
FREE iNewz Apps ($2.99 value) To KRAPPS Viewers!
Developer John Gordon was kind enough to provide codes which will allow KRAPPS viewers to download iNewz, iNewz Tech and iNewz Green for FREE. Battle Of The Boobs
Title: Wobble & iJiggles
Category: Entertainment
update: all download codes have been claimed – thank you
<yawn> Farts continue to make headlines in iPhone World. This time it’s a lawsuit –
Air-o-Matic is seeking $50,000 in damages from the former #1 app, iFart Mobile. </yawn> Rather than bore you with details (we’ll let TUAW or CNN do that – yeah, CNN, big news you know!), we’ll focus on real entertainment … BOOBIE-STYLE.
So there’s trouble in Boobieland … mudslinging, trash talking, accusations flying. It’s Boob vs Boob … specifically Wobble vs iJiggles in some hysterical back-and-forth bantering. We previously covered both Wobble and iJiggles … but this time we present the “Battle Of The Boobs”. And since we live in a glass house – no judgments will be made – no stones will be thrown – no right, no wrong – no “if it doesn’t fit, you must acquit”. Just the facts – you determine the verdict.
Wobble vs iJiggles – the “Just The Facts” edition
Jan 15: iJiggles hits the App Store
Jan 17: Wobble hits the App Store
Jan 18: Wobble (jonau65) leaves the following comment on eugene4023’s iJiggles YouTube video:
Jan 30: Wobble changes name to Wobble-3D-Jiggles
Jan 30: iJiggles changes name to iJiggles-3D-Wobble (their response below)
Jan 31: Wobble-3D-Jiggles changes name back to Wobble
Jan 31: Wobble emails iJiggles the following cease and desist request:
Remove Wobble from the “name” you are using for your application. You are infringing our trademark.
It would seem by your statement that “You have nothing to lose” that you are attempting to benefit from our large sales and marketing effort. Might I suggest that you do have something to lose?
As your name stands you are deliberately using our name to try to increase sales of your own and you will be liable for damages, to minimize such damage you must CEASE AND DESIST using the Wobble name immediately.
My IP lawyers will be writing to Apple, in addition please supply an address for service for your company to the email address above.
Jan 31: iJiggles emails Wobble the following response:
1. It is doubtful that you have already applied and received a Trademark for the name Wobble. Also, Wobble is a generic term and is probably not trademarkable. If I am wrong, send me a trademark number or an application number and I will be happy to change it.
2. At the time of the name change, your app is called “Wobble-3D-Jiggle” and not “Wobble”. Quite a bit different
3. By using the term “jiggle”, you are obviously attempting to benefit from our large sales and marketing effort.
4. I’ll leave it up to Apple to decide. Get my address from them.
Have a good day.
Jan 31: Wobble emails iJiggles the following response:
1. Have it your way.
2. If I was using the term iJiggle rather than just plain jiggle it might explain trying to confuse the market, we were merely experimenting with a longer name to catch the eye more in the appstore.
3. Bad experiment, for a number of reasons – it exposed us to other developers moving on the name “wobble” which is precisely what you have done changing your name – I wonder who would be tempted to take your “iJiggle” name? Maybe some reader of your blog???
4. OK, will do.
And yep, I feel like a dick for even bothering to engage with you, it’s not like your app is competitive really… It looks like a software guy did the graphics and it works like a graphics guy did the software. Did the UI guy come up with your company name?? 🙂
EDITORS NOTE – for clarification, the email exchanges were posted on the iJiggles blog, thus the following response from Wobble
Feb 1: Wobble emails iJiggles the following:
Heh, I don’t believe that you just published a comment from me that:
a. Points out the shortcomings of your application
b. Points out to anybody reading that there exists an opportunity to take your application name! I simply meant that as a warning to you against the problem with changing your software name… hence the reason I changed ours back! (oh and sales went down when I mentioned Jiggle)!
But I guess you are just a bit too slow to pick that up, and you insist on republishing my PM’s to your imaginary readers???
Let’s see if you are foolish enough to publish this too:
Dear search engine and readers of this blog, please index this link: Wobble is the best boob jiggling software available for the iPhone – follow this link to buy WOBBLE http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=301166113Or maybe you’ll realise that you are giving me the opportunity to publish stuff on YOUR blog and take all of it down!! 😀 I even took the time to format your link. You are welcome.
Currently:
Wobble changes name to Wobble Her Bits 3D and again to Wobble-Bikini-Fun
iJiggles changes name to iJiggles Your Mom
And since Wobble is the #6 paid app and iJiggles is the #1 free app … well I guess all this “foreplay” has a happy ending. Now isn’t that nice!
Free iJiggles and Wobble to KRAPPS viewers!
Originally, iJiggles was positioned as a limited time free app. However, since iJiggles has exploded to the #1 free app position, the developer has decided to forego a price increase, generate revenue with ads and leave iJiggles free indefinitely. YAHOO – download iJiggles!
Wobble was kind enough to provide codes which will allow KRAPPS viewers to download Wobble for FREE. Simply tweet the following message on Twitter and we’ll direct message you the download code while supplies last:
